Once again, the Lee family have excelled, in particular Sam & Jiji, hosting a wonderful International fundraising event on the Fern Valley Ranch at Somersby on Saturday 11 February. In very warm to hot conditions the visitors enjoyed the farm's attractions, the property looking lush and green from the recent rains.

The A Team

Cooking a Pig on a Spit was a centrepiece attraction in the capable hands of Phillip Combe, a well-known friend of our club. Not only was the pig being well cooked out in the open, Phillip was also feeling the heat in the hot afternoon sun. It all worked out beautifully. For the most part visitors enjoyed the air-conditioned comfort of the function rooms.

Thanks Chef Phillip!

The main raffle prize (a premium 8-bottle wine fridge) was won by PP Russell Grove. The meal and sweets were delicious. The late afternoon entertainment was supervised by a Hawaiian looking Jiji showing her impressive hula skills to an enthusiastic audience. Darjee also looked the part in his Hawaiian costume. PP Toni Field gave a vote of thanks to the Lee family on behalf of the club.

In all 78 people were in attendance on the day, raising well over a staggering $8,000!
This is unquestionably a great result and if Rotary is about fundraising, then Sam & Jiji have consistently been a shining light in this area for the best part of a decade. Well done and thank you once again!
